rosella in the rain

Posted on Updated on

This Eastern Rosella was clearly enjoying the light rain shower and was in no hurry to move on. Rosellas are broad-tailed parrots with distinctive cheek patches, the eastern rosellas have the white cheeks with red head and red breast, this is a New South Wales rosella that has the golden-mantle. They make a lovely ‘tink-tink’ sound and lay between 4-7 white eggs in a tree hole or stump.
