You don’t often see one of the Little Wattlebirds walking on the ground as they are usually perched in the trees feeding on banksia, grevilla and other flowers on native trees. I was intrigued to see it lift its long tail feathers up, presumably so they wouldn’t drag on the ground.

    in the west, we have the red wattle bird. I have photos of him…in flame trees

    First thing I noticed was his tail. He must be very proud of it.

      he reminds me of a road runner in this position
