This lizard was surrounded by magpies when I spotted it on the path to the beach. The end of his tail was long gone, but he was a brave little fellow and was standing his ground against his new assailants. After I shooed the birds away he sat very still ‘playing dead’ while I took a few snaps. He probably thought I was another predator and it took quite a lot of very gentle prodding with a stick to get him to move off his exposed position on the path into the surrounding bushland.

I think its a bearded dragon, and no frilled neck lizard, but nice picture.
